UltiMaker S7
The S7 arrived in spring 2023 as UltiMaker's refinement of the S5. It keeps the 330 x 240 x 300 mm build volume and the swappable dual print cores, and changes the plate, the levelling and the enclosure. The glass became a PEI-coated flexible steel plate held by 25 magnets and four pins, which you flex to pop prints off. Levelling moved to inductive sensors, which UltiMaker said improve first-layer adhesion. The Air Manager, an add-on for the S5, is now built in, so the printer is fully enclosed and filters up to 95 percent of ultrafine particles. It's heavy at 29.1 kg, quiet, and runs on UltiMaker's Digital Factory. Like every S-series printer it was planned for years of daily work, so ask about hours.

- The S7's total print time isn't anywhere in UltiMaker's readable documentation that we could find. Ask the seller for it, and set it against UltiMaker's planned life of about five years at around 1,500 printing hours a year.
- Hotend and nozzle
- It takes AA and BB print cores, with a CC core for composites as an option, and the feeder is dual-geared and reinforced for composite materials. Ask which cores come with it and for a photo of each tip.
- Bed and levelling
- The S7 moved to a PEI-coated flexible steel plate held by 25 magnets and four pins, and it levels with inductive sensors. Look at the plate in the photos for scratches or bald patches.
- Belts, rails and screws
- The S7 follows UltiMaker's published S-series schedule of cleaning, lubricating and adjusting. Ask how often the seller serviced it.
- Firmware and account
- It connects over Wi-Fi on 2.4 or 5 GHz, Ethernet or USB, and it's managed through UltiMaker Digital Factory. Ask the seller to remove it from their account first. UltiMakerCare plans are tied to the serial number and don't transfer.
- Enclosure and add-ons
- The Air Manager is built in and fully encloses the printer, removing up to 95 percent of ultrafine particles, UltiMaker says. The S7 Pro Bundle added the Material Station for automatic material handling. Check the listing for it.

- 04Hours: Ask roughly how many hours it has printed. UltiMaker plans about 1,500 hours a year for five years.
- 05Air Manager: Ask whether the Air Manager filter has been replaced recently. It's built in, so it should be there and working.
- 06Account: Ask the seller to remove it from their Digital Factory account. Their UltiMakerCare plan won't transfer.
- 07Packing: Ask whether they'll follow UltiMaker's repacking instructions. At 29.1 kg it needs proper packing.
