The S5 is UltiMaker's big dual-extrusion printer. It launched in March 2018 with a 330 x 240 x 300 mm build volume and two swappable print cores, so it could print a part in one material with water-soluble support in another. The spool holder reads NFC tags on UltiMaker's own spools to recognize the material, and a capacitive sensor in the print head levels the glass plate. In September 2019 came the S5 Pro Bundle, which added the Material Station, a six-spool feeder that keeps filament dry and swaps materials on its own, and the Air Manager, a filtered top enclosure. A Pro Bundle is a small production cell, so check those parts are really in the listing. UltiMaker's site still lists the S5 alongside its S6 successor.

UltiMaker lists no S5 fault. The gaps to look for are missing print cores, a chipped glass plate, and a Pro Bundle sold without its Material Station or Air Manager.

We'd buy the S5 R2 at $1,500 with free shipping, the later revision, inside the $1,250 to $1,775 band. Material Station and Air Manager bundles sit at the top, and several low asks quote no shipping on a printer this big. Check for an AA and a BB print core and an unchipped glass plate. Have it removed from the seller's Digital Factory account, since their UltiMakerCare plan won't transfer.
