Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro
The Neptune 4 Pro was Elegoo's move into fast printing. It ships with Klipper preinstalled, the open-source firmware tinkerers had been fitting to their own printers for years, and Elegoo rates it at up to 500 mm/s with 20,000 mm/s² of acceleration. It's a bed slinger with a 225 x 225 mm bed and 265 mm of height. The bed has two heating zones and a sheet that's smooth on one side and textured PEI on the other, and the printer probes 121 points across it before a print. A dual-gear direct extruder feeds a 300 °C hotend, so PETG and ABS are fine as well as PLA. Klipper also means a web interface on your network and a log of past prints, which makes a used one easier to judge than most.

Printer check
Hours, hotend, bed and firmware
- Print hours
- Elegoo doesn't document a total print-time counter we could find. Klipper keeps a print history in its web interface, so ask the seller for a screenshot of it, or roughly how much it has printed.
- Hotend and nozzle
- The dual-gear direct extruder feeds a hotend with a copper and titanium bi-metal throat, rated to 300 °C. Ask for a close photo of the nozzle. A clean, round tip is good, and a crusted or flattened one needs replacing.
- Bed and levelling
- The bed has two heating zones and a double-sided sheet, smooth on one face and textured PEI on the other. It probes 121 points automatically, with hand-twist knobs underneath for fine-tuning. Check both faces of the sheet in the photos for bald patches and scratches.
- Belts, rails and screws
- It's a bed slinger with twin Z lead screws and twin Z motors. A bed that rolls smoothly when pushed and X and Y belts that twang are what you want to see.
- Firmware and account
- It runs Klipper, preinstalled by Elegoo, with over-the-air updates and LAN access to a web interface. Ask whether the seller modified the Klipper setup, and ask for it reset to Elegoo's stock settings if you'd rather start clean.
- Spare parts
- We didn't confirm a Neptune 4 Pro spares page in Elegoo's store. Nozzles and sheets are ordinary wear parts, so check what's available before you buy.
- Shipping and packaging
- Elegoo has no packing guide that we found. The original foam is best, with the sheet off and the head and bed held still, and a bent gantry or a cracked screen is what to look for on arrival.

Check the listing photos against these lists, and ask the seller about anything you can’t see. A missing sheet, add-on or power supply should come off the price.
What to check
We found no Neptune 4 Pro faults in Elegoo's documentation. Wear lands on the nozzle, the double-sided sheet and the belts, and a recent print shows it.
- 01Model name: Check the listing and label say Neptune 4 Pro. The Neptune 4, 4 Plus and 4 Max are different printers.
- 02Print history: Ask for a screenshot of the print history in the web interface. A few hundred jobs is normal use, and a seller who shows it is being open.
- 03Recent print: Ask for a photo of a recent print with the first layer up. Even lines with no gaps mean the levelling works.
- 04Nozzle: Ask for a close photo of the nozzle tip. Clean and round is good, and crusted or flattened means a new nozzle.
- 05Sheet: Look at both sides of the sheet in the photos. Even texture is good, and bald patches mean a new sheet.
- 06Belts: Ask the seller to pluck the X and Y belts. They should twang, not flap.
- 07Packing: Ask how it'll be packed. The sheet and touchscreen should come off and travel padded.
