Elegoo Mars 4 Ultra
Elegoo's Mars printers are a big part of why tabletop gamers started printing their own miniatures, and the Mars 4 Ultra is the compact one with fast Wi-Fi. A 7 in 9K mono screen at 18 µm masks each layer onto a plate of about 153 x 78 mm, with 165 mm of height. The screen sits under 9H tempered glass, and the vat uses ACF release film for speeds up to 150 mm an hour. You level it once at four points, and files arrive over Wi-Fi on either band or by USB stick. Elegoo even put a small USB air purifier in the box. The screen is rated at about 2,000 hours, and Elegoo sells a replacement you can fit at home, so a used one with a clean screen and fresh film is an easy start in resin.

Hours, screen, vat and firmware
- Print hours
- Elegoo rates the screen at about 2,000 hours, and we couldn't confirm a print or screen-time counter in the menus. Ask the seller roughly how many hours it has printed.
- LCD screen
- It uses a 7 in 9K mono screen at 18 µm, covered by 9H tempered glass. Elegoo sells a replacement and rates the panel at about 2,000 hours. A close photo of the bare glass with the vat out should show no cracks and no resin under the edges.
- Vat and release film
- The vat uses ACF release film, and Elegoo sells ACF and FEP as accessories. Ask for the vat photographed against a window or lamp. The film should be clear and taut, with no dents or holes.
- Build plate and levelling
- The plate levels once at four points with four screws, and Elegoo says it shouldn't need doing again. Ask for a photo of the plate. It should be flat and clean, with no cured resin stuck on.
- Z axis
- The plate rides on a linear guide rail. Ask the seller to run the plate up and down from the menu. It should move smoothly and quietly.
- Firmware and account
- It sends files over Wi-Fi on 2.4 or 5 GHz, or prints from USB, with a 4 in touchscreen. Ask the seller to clear any saved networks and files before it ships.
- Add-ons
- It came with a small USB air purifier that sits in the vat cover. Check the photos for it, but price the printer on its own.
- Spare parts
- Elegoo sells a replacement 7 in 9K screen for the Mars 4 Ultra, which you install yourself following the manual. It carries a three-month warranty that doesn't cover resin leaks or a damaged scratch film, so install it carefully.
- Shipping and packaging
- Elegoo doesn't publish a packing guide for it that we found. The vat should be emptied and the plate removed and packed apart from the screen, then the box checked for resin leaks and a cracked screen on arrival.
