Creality K1 Max
The K1 Max is the big K1. It stretches Creality's enclosed CoreXY to a 300 mm cube and adds the smart parts the smaller K1 lacked. A 1 µm AI lidar scans the first layer and pauses the print if something looks wrong, strain sensors in the bed build the levelling mesh, and an AI camera in the chamber watches for spaghetti and debris and records time-lapses. It ships with a hardened steel nozzle, so carbon-fiber filament is on the menu, and it connects over Wi-Fi or Ethernet as well as through Creality Cloud. There are two versions to watch for. Creality has since released a revised K1 Max 2025, and like the K1, early units shipped with a separate hotend that won't take the CFS color upgrade. Ask which one you're getting.

Printer check
Hours, hotend, bed and firmware
- Print hours
- It can export a log, but nothing we found says that log shows hours, and there's no documented print-time counter. Ask the seller roughly how much it has printed.
- Hotend and nozzle
- It ships with a hardened steel nozzle rated to 300 °C and a ceramic heater with 32 mm³/s of flow, so carbon-fiber filaments are fine. Like the K1, early units had a separate hotend and later ones an integrated hotend, told apart by set screws on the heat sink. Ask for a photo.
- Bed and levelling
- Strain sensors in the heatbed build the levelling mesh, and a 1 µm AI lidar scans the first layer and pauses the print if something's wrong. A photo of a recent first layer shows both are working.
- Belts, rails and screws
- It's a CoreXY with a 190 g print head. Creality's manual says to wipe dust and stray filament off the guide rails regularly. Ask the seller to move the head by hand with the power off.
- Firmware and account
- It runs Creality OS, built on Klipper, with Wi-Fi and Ethernet, and Creality publishes an official root-access guide for the K1 series. Ask whether it's rooted or stock, and to unlink it from Creality Cloud before it ships.
- Enclosure and add-ons
- The AI camera watches for spaghetti, foreign objects and debris and records time-lapses. Creality's CFS color upgrade needs the integrated hotend. The enclosure has an auxiliary chamber fan and built-in air filters.
- Spare parts
- There's a K1 Max parts list and replacement guides for the lidar, camera, extruder, heated bed, belts, motors, door glass and more, and Creality sells a 315 x 310 mm PEI plate kit and a hotbed kit. Creality now sells a revised K1 Max 2025, so check which one a listing is.
- Shipping and packaging
- Creality says it ships assembled and calibrated, but we found no repacking guide. Ask for the original box and foam, and look for cracked door glass or a loose print head on arrival.

Check the listing photos against these lists, and ask the seller about anything you can’t see. A missing sheet, add-on or power supply should come off the price.
What to check
Creality has troubleshooting pages for lidar and camera detection, XY axis collisions, ringing, a full-memory recovery procedure and hotend clogs after ABS. None of it is a recall, but ask whether this printer has had any of them.
- 01Version: Check whether it's the original K1 Max or the K1 Max 2025. Ask for a photo of the label to be sure.
- 02Hotend version: Ask for a photo of the hotend heat sink. Set screws there mean the early separate hotend, which won't take the CFS upgrade.
- 03Lidar: Ask the seller to start a print with the first-layer scan on. It should scan without a lidar error.
- 04Camera: Ask for a screenshot of the camera view. A clear picture means the AI camera is connected.
- 05Recent print: Ask for a photo of a large recent print. An even first layer across the bed means the strain-sensor mesh works.
- 06Firmware: Ask whether it's rooted or on stock Creality OS. Either is fine if you know which.
- 07Packing: Ask whether it'll ship in the original box and foam. Door glass is the most likely shipping damage.
