Prusa MINI+
The MINI+ is Prusa's small printer. It started shipping in November 2020, replacing the original MINI, and the plus was the SuperPINDA probe, which made first layers far more consistent than the MINI's old sensor. It prints 180 mm in every direction with a geared Bowden extruder, on the same removable magnetic sheets as the bigger Prusas in a smaller size. It runs the same open-source Buddy firmware as the MK4 and XL, with print statistics in the menu, Ethernet built in and an optional Wi-Fi module. Prusa still sells a kit that turns a MINI into a MINI+ and stocks nearly every spare, from belts to the mainboard, so a used one is easy to keep going.

Printer check
Hours, hotend, bed and firmware
- Print hours
- The Buddy firmware keeps total print time under LCD Menu, Info, Print Statistics, and a photo of that menu is the quickest way to judge wear.
- Hotend and nozzle
- It's a Bowden printer, with the extruder on the frame feeding the hotend through a PTFE tube, and the nozzle runs to 280 °C. Prusa sells the extruder-to-print-head PTFE tube as a spare. Ask for a close photo of the nozzle tip.
- Bed and levelling
- The SuperPINDA probe levels a mesh automatically, and the bed takes Prusa's removable magnetic steel sheets in smooth, textured or satin. Check the sheet in the photos for bald patches.
- Belts, rails and screws
- The Y belt sits under the heatbed and the X belt moves the print head, and both tension with screws. Prusa's quick test is to print a circle, which comes out irregular if a belt is loose, so ask the seller to print one or pluck the belts.
- Firmware and account
- It has Ethernet and USB, with Prusa's ESP Wi-Fi module sold separately, and it works with Prusa Connect. On firmware 6.4.0 or later, the Ownership transfer reset clears the seller's network and Connect settings but keeps statistics.
- Enclosure and add-ons
- The filament sensor was optional, not standard. Check the photos for it and the Wi-Fi module if the listing mentions them.
- Spare parts
- Prusa still sells MINI and MINI+ spares, including the Buddy board, X and Y belts, the PTFE tube, the filament sensor, the hotend fan, SuperPINDA and the external 24 V power supply. Sheets are sold too.
- Shipping and packaging
- Prusa's MINI packing guide calls for the original box or a sturdy one at least 48.5 x 40.5 x 26.5 cm, with the nozzle held by a foam block, and rules out foam peanuts and shredded paper. Ask how the seller will pack it.

Check the listing photos against these lists, and ask the seller about anything you can’t see. A missing sheet, add-on or power supply should come off the price.
What to check
Nothing in Prusa's documentation flags a MINI+ fault. Its PTFE tube is a wear part, as on any Bowden printer, and the belts and sheet wear like any bed slinger's.
- 01Print statistics: Ask for a photo of LCD Menu, Info, Print Statistics. It shows total print time.
- 02MINI or MINI+: Ask for a photo of the probe next to the nozzle. A MINI+ has the SuperPINDA, and an upgraded MINI should say so.
- 03Recent print: Ask for a photo of a recent print with the first layer up. Even lines mean levelling works.
- 04Belts: Ask the seller to print a circle. Prusa says an irregular circle means a loose belt.
- 05Sheet: Look at the sheet in the photos. An even surface is good, and bald patches mean a new sheet.
- 06Extras: Check whether the Wi-Fi module and filament sensor are fitted. Both were optional, so don't assume they're there.
- 07Packing: Ask whether it'll ship in the original box or one at least 48.5 x 40.5 x 26.5 cm. Prusa says no foam peanuts.

The other comes bundled with a Creality CR-10 V3, which only makes sense if you want both. Ask whether the optional filament sensor and Wi-Fi module are in the box. Prusa still sells nearly every MINI+ spare, from the PTFE tube and belts to the Buddy board.
